The album’s finished now – I just need to get some artwork sorted and make enough money to pay for the replication. In the meantime I will upload a .zip file with the 320k mp3 files. I have only mastered it very lightly as I wanted to keep a lot of the dynamics present unlike most commercially released CDs these days. I know that this has potential to cause problems in the clubs for DJs so I might do a DJ only release with ‘squashed’ extreme limited versions… It won’t sound as good as the proper version though. Also, all the tracks sort of blend into each other on the CD (well, most of them) which is very annoying for DJs so that’s another good reason to do a second version.
Recently I decided to switch web providers and backed up the old site onto my disks at home. Around this time I had three drives fail at once. Not only did I lose the entire website, but I lost all of my project files (including the backups). Yep. Back to zero for me. It’s taken me some time to get around to sorting out the web stuff since I had no music to put up here! 10 years worth of data, gone. But it’s time to stop looking back at all the unfinished work that will never be heard and look forward to the new album, which I expect to be finished at the end of June.
The album will be titled ‘The Man Who Ate Too Much Cheese’, which I suppose is a kind of excuse for it being less dark and angry than my other work. It’s a positive album, and a fresh start for me. It’s as if all the music before never happened. Only the 1st track on the album is from old material – ‘Together’ is the only half-finished track which did not get destroyed with all the other work. I will post a sample shortly. In the meantime check out the older music on the tunage page.
